Another new line of Laptops from Toshiba are due in October. The Satellite T110 (or T115 in the States) will be a brand new Netbook featuring an 11.6 inch display, a choice of Intel processors, being either Pentium SU4100 or Celeron 743. Storage options will start at 250GB, and RAM has yet to be confirmed. It seems to be harder and harder to classify what is, and what is not a netbook nowadays, so we usually use the screen size as a deciding factor. On this basis, we would see the Satellite T110 as a Netbook at the larger side of the scale. If our classification is correct, a spec sheet such as the T110 puts this new netbook in a good place compared to netbooks currently available, so we’re hoping for big things.
The T130 (or T135 in the States) will be the larger of the two new Satellite’s, and will come with a defintely Notebook sized 13.3 inch screen. Processors will come in two choices, being either the Intel Pentium SU4100 or the Intel Pentium SU2700. Again RAM is yet to be confirmed, and hard drive storage will start at the same level as the Satellite T110, at 250GB. Bluetooth appears to be the only feature included on the Satellite T130 that does not appear on the T110.
Satellite T110 & T130 come with Windows 7
Both of the new Satellite models will also feature Windows 7, so we hope to see some real jumps in performance. Battery life will deffinately improve with the use of Windows 7, and up to 9 hours usage is what Toshiba are announcing.
Satellite Laptops are Slim!
Both of the new Satellite Latops will be slim, measuring in at under 1 inch thick, is quite a claim, especially as they are due to come with a 6 cell battery pack. We will wait to see if this slimness can be confirmed.
Colours Galore
It seems that good old black is no longer good enough for laptops, and Toshiba appear to agree. The T130 will be avilable in Nova Black, Nova Red, and Nova White, while the T110 will be available in Nova Black and Nova Red. As yet we only have pictures for the nova red and nova black. Expect more as we find them.
What’s it cost?
Prices in the states have been confirmed at $559 for the T135 and $449 for the T115. As yet the only price guide we have for the UK is that they will start at £429, but we will confirm that as soon as we have more news.
