The HP Mini311 Ion Netbook, one of the first netbooks to receive the much anticipated NVIDIA Ion graphics processor, has just been benchmarked, and the results are good!
The New Nvidia Ion graphics processor has been on everyones minds lately, as it is set to transform the netbook market, by offering greatly enhanced performance in the small netbook form factor. Promising HD playback – that’s 1080p by the way, will change the way many people use their netbooks. The Ion chip will surely attract many new buyers, who are after something small and convenient, but with enough grunt to do the things they want out of a modern laptop.
As an example of the perfformance increase recognised by the inclusion of an Ion processor, the Hp Mini 311 received a PCMark 05 score of 1,917, nearly 500 point above a netbook average of 1,423. 1080p playback performance, and video editing also receive a great performance boost.
